What must I do to inherit eternal life? (Luke 10:25)
That question resonates in my ears. What must I do to inherit eternal life?
These days talking about eternal life seems strange and sounds strange. Who can talk about eternal life when we have so many problems to solve? We are more worried about the day to day routine and worried about debts, credit cards and everything we lack in order to be happy. Unfortunately, we have forgotten about future realities and also the
well-being of our soul.
Since I was little, I was taught that in order to do things well you have to set clear goals. However, every time the objective was lost and got in my way, I would end up with bad grades or simply angry with myself and with the people I loved most.
The problem is that I lost focus and losing focus I lost myself because I did not know where to go or which way to go.
Sunday’s gospel helps us put things into perspective. Eternal life is above all the debts I have to pay or the plans I have to make. Having clear objectives makes decisions easier. We adjust our priorities. What do I want to spend my strength and energy on?
Thinking about eternal life is the key to living a good life.
